Part of the The Warehouse Project takeover
Eli & Fur emerged from the scene in 2012/13, during what many consider to be the golden era of the new wave of house and deep house. Their breakthrough hit, ‘You’re So High’, encapsulated a sound that was popular at the time whilst also showcasing their signature spin – atmospheric sounds combined with a moody bassline and airy vocals, treading the line between house and synth-pop.
Since then, their rise has been somewhat meteoric. They’ve released under many label heavyweights including Defected and Anjunadeep whilst also keeping their own moniker active – NYX. With an impressive collaboration list that features the likes of Shadow Child and Erick Morillo, some could argue that Eli & Fur were a big influence in catapulting house from the underground to the almost-mainstream status it has today. And when you look at their track record, it’s hard to disagree.
With multiple awards under their belt and a performance at Coachella to boot, it seems the majority feel the same way; and at a time when a female presence in the scene is so important. For us, they picked out four tracks that have inspired them musically, adding a cheeky bonus track to the selection.
