Part of the Motorik! takeover
Having collaborated for the latest release on Motorik, it’s only right that we invite Pantheon and Horowitz in to kick off this week’s Motorik takeover. Solo producers in their own right, their Body Action EP marks their debut release together. Although this is their first time collaborating, the duo have been long time friends and have both featured multiple times on the Australian label Unknown Records.
Pantheon made his debut on Unknown Records in 2014 with the groovy house number ‘On The Run’. Since, he has made that label somewhat of a home, having released steadily year on year. Horowitz joined the same label with Waxxx in 2015, and has since released another two digital EPs for the label. For both artists, Body Action marks their first appearance on Motorik, and the EP has received considerable attention since its appearance in July.
Pantheon and Horowitz’s EP fits amongst Motorik’s label aesthetic ideally. Its deep basslines, machine percussion and crisp production find a happy home amongst Motorik’s now many releases. Featuring a powerful warehouse remix from Craig Williams and an entrancing remix from Fairchild, the tracks of Body Action are sure to find their way into many Motorik parties to come. Here, Pantheon and Horowitz reveal some of their influences, selecting four of their favourite warehouse cuts. In the words of Motorik:
“Sometimes two men look each other in the eyes and know it’s meant to be, sometimes two men twiddle each other’s synthesizers and know it’s fate, and sometimes two me can’t deny their desire to be together. Cue Pantheon & Horowitz – long time label mates and longer time friends. Together they’re double the trouble and double the strength; stronger kicks, bigger basses and even better melodies. This is their first EP together and their first Motorik release – that’s right you heard it here first this is an xxxclusive. This little number fell into our collective MTK Records lap at just the right time. We needed something with a little bit of emotion and even more percussion. Think pads which aren’t for your knees and bass which isn’t for jumping – Body Action is made for thumping.”
