Part of the Peckham Rye Music Festival takeover
Brought up in his family’s jazz cafe and art gallery Peppers, the Welsh DJ’s direction isn’t too surprising. A lover of vinyl and ‘all things groovy’, Harri Pepper has started to make a name for himself through his excellent track selection. Fusing together soulful house, funk, disco and spectacular 90s jams, he’s joined the ranks of Stamp The Wax as their chief resident.
Following on from his previous residency with fellow companion ∆dmin, under the Slix Disco alias in Bristol, Harri Pepper now holds his own monthly residency at Dalston’s new cocktail bar Ray’s Bar (formally Dance Tunnel). Through both his partnership with ∆dmin and his solo offering, Harri has built up a reputation for his no-nonsense party starting. Over the past couple of years, dance music heavyweights Love Saves The Day, Gottwood and Farr have all taken interest, booking him for their festivals. Now he’s readying himself for Peckham Rye Music Festival, an event which shares the same funky sounds Harri bangs in his sets. Today he teases us with a few of these, ahead of his performance at the Stamp The Wax takeover on Sunday next weekend.
