Part of the Peckham Rye Music Festival takeover
In the past few years, London has seen a new branch bud from its original roots of electronic music. A big part of the capital’s sound is now defined by young producers outputting dreamy deep house composed with analogue hardware – infusing jazzy instrument components and lush soundscapes with the trademark grit of UK electronica.
One of the original makers of this London movement is South London’s Seb Wildblood. The rising DJ and producer introduced his label Church back in 2012 with an edit of Faith Evans vs Nuyorican Soul’s ‘Love Like This’ from Left Blank’s Lorca; closely followed by a release from the then 15-year-old Leeds breakbeat and bass producer Happa. Since Church’s early releases, the label has paved the way for a slew of producers and has brought now recognisable names into the spotlight. Artists such as FYI Chris, Project Pablo and James Booth all found their feet at Church, whilst names like Wolf Music’s Laurence Guy, In Dust We Trust head honchos Chaos In The CBD and Mall Grab have all seen releases on the ever-growing label.
Aside from his releases on Church, Wildblood has been outputting material across a variety of labels which has led to two US Tours and a string of dates across the UK & Europe. Last year we also the launch of the Coastal Haze imprint, which has seen a number of releases from a new generation of talent – including Canadian producer Pacific Coliseum, Natural Sciences’ Aquarium and newcomer Buddy Love, who will be joining Seb Wildblood at this years Peckham Rye Music festival for a debut live set. A couple of months ago we were introduced to a third imprint ‘All My Thoughts’, this further cementing the idea that Seb Wildblood is quite possibly one of the busiest men in South London.
For this weeks Peckham Rye Festival takeover, we get to share four of Seb Wildblood’s festival favourites with you, including an extra-special afterthought from one half of the Rotations crew on Balamii, DJ Eliot. Expect deep, lush house throughout, with a few curveballs on the way. Enjoy!
