Part of the In:Motion takeover
The UK artist is a a loyal, reliable, and hard-working supporter of the electronic music scene. For over a decade he’s been DJing and making music, releasing on the likes of Futureboogie, Ene as well as his own label Cynic, and performing at the likes of Glastonbury and since the 90s. 2014 was the big turning point in his career that he puts down to his set at Glastonbury, a festival he’s been a staple at for the last nine years, and one particular release on a New York label. ‘I Ain’t Gonna Tell You‘ was released on DFA and produced by Dedication, a collective of Japanese and Western musicians led by Dickinson and artistic director Mikey Yamada, consisting of vocalists, a bassist, keyboardist and guitarist. With over 80,000 plays on Soundcloud alone it’s safe to say the track was a huge hit, and in his usual style, is an upbeat, funky jam. That, coupled with a standout set at the open-air Genosys stage at Glastonbury, he believes was a recipe for success (and we don’t doubt him). In 2015 alone he played more shows than 2013 and 2014 combined, making his debut at the likes of The Warehouse Project, DC10 and Sonar festival.
Set to play the In:Motion opening party next Friday alongside Breach, Craig Richards Eats Everything and others, we pick Felix’s brain for four recent favourites.
